Sunday Celebration! Broken Heart Syndrome w/ Barbara Caruso
Broken Heart Syndrome or heart enlargement/ischemic changes in blood flow or abnormal cardiac conditions can occur due to the stress associated with sudden shock or intense emotions. Many do not believe it is a true condition yet Dr.Takotsuba, has been able to document this syndrome is real and a cardiac life threat. He has coined it “Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy”. My belief, after much research and a very personal experience, is that the spirit of oneself is so attacked during times of high emotional and physical stress, that our “spiritual self” cannot bear the agony of this insult and our heart takes a hit. Our heart is where our love rests and the insult of such a emotional challenges breaks our heart and spirit. This presentation will share a bit of the research and the real-world impact of how when one’s spirit is so attacked, brutalized or threatened, our physical heart breaks, hence The Broken Heart Syndrome.
Barbara has been a RN for 45 years dealing with death and dying in many forms. She loved teaching as an Assistant professor at Drexel Medical School and became an AIDS educator during the crisis. However, when her mediumship opened up at age 65, her life was changed in a spiritual way she had never anticipated. Spirituality and Mediumship has been in her world for 10 years now studying under many mentors. Her relationship with her fur babies and family alike has been impacted, and while still working as a RN, Barbara spends her non-work time in teaching mediumship and connecting to the other side.
