(Canceled) Lyme Disease – Doing Battle with this Silent Enemy w/ Barbara Ann Caruso (In Person & Zoom)
This seminar will take you through the history of Lyme and bring you up to date with the current testing, treatment and preventive actions one can take to avoid getting Lyme disease. Barbara will share medical information on the transmission and stages of Lyme, as well as the value of early detection through paying attention to the subtle signs that occur during the few weeks after a tick exposure. Knowing what to look for in symptoms early on helps to prevent this bacterium from advancing through your body and wreaking havoc months and years later. Join Barbara in a journey through this understanding and confronting Lyme via her personal story as well as guidelines on how to enjoy nature without the threat of Lyme ticks attacking you and your family.

About the Facilitator:
Barbara Ann Veronica Caruso RN, Phd had been misdiagnosed with stress after a year of miscellaneous symptoms that caused her to be bedridden for months. It became apparent that she was now disabled from this “chronic fatigue syndrome” However, only after 3 repeat Lyme Titers ( and almost 2 years of misdiagnosis) did her physicians realize she was infected with Lyme Disease all that time. Barbara began a crusade establishing the first Lyme Disease Support Group through Abington Hospital. She and her neighbor, who was also very ill from Lyme, initiated a campaign (along with the late Senator Jon Fox) which resulted in “ Vote Yes for Health” in Montgomery County. As a result, the Montco Public Health Department was voted into the state of PA. Barbara today is eternally grateful for the wonderful holistic practitioners who used their gifts to assist her in her recovery from Lyme.
Barbara is a RN and former College Professor who dedicated her master’s research in 1986 on AIDS Education for College Students. Her PHD work shifted into training young medical students on how to understand AIDS was a disease of all persons and not to discriminate based on other factors. Barbara has worked as a RN for 45 years and presently is in the field of Occupational Health. She is a Mother of 3 Adult children and a Nonna of 4 Grandchildren. She enjoys camping and being in nature, as well as singing, writing poetry and using her natural Mediumship connections to help heal others when in pain. She hopes to retire next May at age 75, and continue on with her love of nature by camping around the country!
